I agree with most of what you said, but I have to say it's a rather complex issue and the blame for cultural genocide can rarely be laid at the feet of one entity or institution. In answer to your question: what is true liberation? Well the primary thing I feel a need to be liberated from is sin, in this particular case I'd say we ALL need to be liberated from the structures of sin that allow genocide and other human rights violations to go unchecked and unaccounted for. Yesterday Canada issued a formal apology for the treatment of Aboriginals in Canada you can read about it here: http://www.cbc.ca/canada/story/2008/06/11/aboriginal-apology.html

This womans original indigenous culture was wiped out along with 99% of the thousands of indigenous cultures that once permeated this planet. The damage has been done, mission acomplished. The lesson all these cultures were to learn? There is only one right way to live. To those who look a little into history may see the bloody tyranical path of the Christian Chuch..Time and time again idigenous groups have been killed and their most ancient traditions have been bulldozed by Christianity and the white race. Lets not fool ourselves this womans liberation lies in what was stolen from her. You must first liberate yourself if you wish to walk a path of liberation with others. Q. What is true liberation to you?
