I’m
I’m looking at CIDA internships. All of the internships are amazing, Ulaanbaatar, is my top pick, the organization: a feminist women’s rights/violence against women network. The work: assisting with an anti-sex trafficking advocacy/awareness/capacity building project. Hanoi’s option is a bit less intriguing as it’s a rural development project. I’m a city girl. Beaches would make up for that challenge, I think… Manila, I have been there, the internship is amazing, stellar networking opportunities because I’d be assisting with organizing an Asia-wide forum on Migrant Workers rights. And I would get to see some of my friends on a regular basis for awhile.
I’m going to apply for them all and see what happens.
Yesterday I went to the library to pick up some books about these places and I met a Japanese student who had been to Mongolia. He loved it there. He said go. Two days ago, I got an email from a friend who is traveling the world with her husband. They went to Mongolia last fall. So she told me all about it. She said go, but check out Kyrgyzstan too. Unfortunately, it’s not an option with CIDA. Some day, I will travel through the ’stans…
I’ll keep you posted…
